Andrew Enberg Bio

Young or old, it’s never too late to learn to play the drums!  My students range from grade school age all the way up to the distinguished septuagenarian!  Lessons can be serious, focusing on reading music and studying technique; or lessons can be silly and fun where we jam to your favorite tunes.  Ideally we do a little of both!  I’ve performed and taught just about every style imaginable, so whatever music you’re into, we can find the right approach to keep you motivated, challenged, and most importantly having fun!

I grew up in Los Angeles and spent several years as a child actor until I discovered drumming.  Drums have consumed my life ever since!  I played in several rock and dance bands and jazz combos in high school and college and I was a member of my award winning high school and university jazz bands.

I’ve been teaching and performing professionally in Northern California for 30 years.

I’m currently the drummer for several projects, including:

Some of my past projects include:

  • Legendary jazz saxophonist, John Tchicai: improvisational jazz.
  • Sketch Olives: alternative rock.
  • Ganbare Spirits Ensemble: improvisational big band jazz.
  • Free Association: roots R&B and funk.

I look forward to hearing from you!
