Jean-Baptiste Arban (1825-1889) wrote and arranged over 300 pieces of music, with his cornet a pistons solos being the most important to trumpet and cornet players. After his death, much of his work fell into obscurity during the twentieth century. Rediscovering Arbanâs masterful music was the motivation for compiling this collection of cornet pieces. Included pieces are: âVariations Brilliantes,â âFantaisie brillante sur lâair populaire de Marlborough,â âFantaisie brillante sur des motifs de La Cenerentola de Gioachino Rossini,â âLe Pre aux Clercs,â âRomance de Mignon de Ambroise Thomas,â among other brilliant works. This collection of solos represents a very important piece of Arbanâs legacy. Includes a piano accompaniment audio CD for effective practice.
