Program
Renowned guitar luthier Greg Byers will give a talk about his construction of an extended 7-string guitar. Matthew Grasso will perform unique transcriptions of classical masterworks and original compositions for extended 7-string. Jon Mendle will present the music of Bach and Kernis on his 11-string arch guitar. Mauro Correa and Enrique Coria (from the David Grisman quintet) will delight us with the beautiful sounds of Brazilian Jazz. Nate Lopez will “funk it up” on his Charlie Hunter 8-string bass/guitar. A brief history of multi-string guitars will be discussed. If we're lucky, complimentary 7-Up will likely be served again this year.
